Well, here it is in all its grandeur ... my first blog post. In the weeks and months ahead, I hope to keep this page updated with the goings-on in my life ... including but not limited to: wedding preparation, vacations, lakes-area happenings, concerts and (one can only hope) Expressway Inn Fishbowl cockail stories.
103 days and counting ... until I'm a married man.
For those that are curious ... the title of this blog (stompinlikeadisco) is from one of my very favorite 80's tunes, "Sausalito Summernight" by a band called Diesel. I like the song because it details the adventure of a couple in Marin County on, well ... a hot summer's night in a car that's just about to die. So you have a few themes which I enjoy all competing for air time in one great song.
1) summer
2) the Bay Area
3) a road trip
4) root beer
Anyone that has ever been to Sausalito knows the vibe this song instills in your veins. It's basically about two people who might not get where they're going ... but it doesn't matter, they'll enjoy the trip. Put a quarter in the meter ... and hit the sidewalk for awhile.
"Another mile or two to Frisco, 200 gallons from LA. The engine's stompin' like a disco, we ought to dump 'er in the Bay ..."
